You're thinking about coming to Medina to learn Arabic with us – but you're not sure how the registration works? No problem. We've made the process as simple as possible. This article walks you through every step, from your first message to the moment you hold the key to your accommodation in the camp in your hand.
Step 1: Choose a course
Before signing up, think about which programme fits you. We currently offer the following courses:
For men (on-site in Medina):
- Arabic standard course – 2 hrs Arabic + 1 hr Quran daily, 799 € / month. No prior knowledge needed, start any time.
- Arabic intensive course – 4 hrs Arabic + 1 hr Quran daily, 945 € / month. Double the learning speed. Fixed dates.
For women:
- Reading & writing (online) – 2 hrs daily, 1 month, from 169 €. Perfect as preparation.
- Arabic intensive course (on-site) – 2 months, incl. accommodation & shuttle, 1,890 €.
- Speaking intensive course (on-site) – 2 months, focus on speaking and rhetoric, 1,890 €.
- Quran in the Mosque (on-site) – 499 € / month, incl. accommodation in the camp. Free Quran lessons (4:15–6:15 pm) in the mosque opposite, daily tafsir and a certificate after memorising 5 Juz.
For families:
- Family package – from 4 course participants you get your own apartment in the camp, 5 % family discount.
All details, prices and content can be found on our course overview.
If you're unsure which course is right for you, just message us. We're happy to help you decide.
Step 2: Get in touch
Decided? Then message us – easiest via WhatsApp:
Alternatively by email: info@medina-camps.com
Or via our contact form.
Briefly let us know:
- Which course you'd like to take
- When you want to come (month / rough time frame)
- How long you want to stay
- Whether you're coming alone, with friends or as a family
We reply directly or usually within a few hours – in English, German, Arabic, or Kurdish at a pinch 😄.
Step 3: Reserve your spot (deposit)
When everything fits, we reserve your spot. For that, a deposit is required. The amount we agree individually with you.
Important to know:
- Without a deposit we cannot guarantee a spot – demand is very high.
- The deposit is part of the total amount (so it's not charged extra).
- The deposit is generally non-refundable, unless we cancel the course – then you get everything back.
We agree on payment methods together. We always find a solution that works for you.
Step 4: Get your visa
You need a visa for Saudi Arabia? We help:
- We can arrange the visa for you – for a small processing fee. Many of our students have used this. Brothers and sisters from various countries have come to Medina this way without complications.
- Alternatively you can also apply for the visa yourself.
Just tell us at registration whether we should handle the visa for you. We'll then tell you which documents we need from you.
Step 5: Pay the remaining balance
The full amount must be paid before your arrival:
- Only after the full amount is received is your spot finally confirmed.
- Access to the accommodation requires complete payment.
Sounds formal, but it's straightforward – we remind you in time and agree on everything personally.
Step 6: Plan your arrival
You have your spot, your visa and everything is paid. Now for the arrival:
Flight: Book your flight to Medina (MED) or alternatively to Jeddah (JED) + train/bus to Medina.
From the airport/station to the camp: You organise your arrival yourself – just take a taxi or use an app like Uber/Careem. Very straightforward.
Arrival time: You can arrive around the clock – also at night or very early in the morning. At the entrance there's a key locker through which you access the accommodation and get your personal key. You don't have to stick to a fixed arrival time.
Student area: Full access details, your booked course, and further information are available in your personal student area – which you receive from us after booking.
Step 7: Arrive & get started
You're here! What happens now:
- Settle in: Your bed, wardrobe, bedside table – everything is ready. Arrive, unpack, rest. Tip: Slippers, your own towel, shampoo and plenty of t-shirts (the heat is real) are things that make the first days noticeably more comfortable. A light jacket or hoodie is also worth packing for the Prophet's Mosque – the air conditioning can be surprisingly cold.
- Placement test: On the first day of class, your Arabic level is tested. So you end up in the right group.
- Shuttle: From the first day of class, the shuttle picks you up from the accommodation and takes you to the study venue (about 10 min.) – and back after class.
- Learning: Arabic, Quran, immersion. 5 days a week.
- Living: The rest of the day you shape freely – Prophet's Mosque, shopping, park, fitness, exchange with other students.

Common questions about registration
Can I sign up on short notice? Yes – as long as spots are available. Some students register 2 weeks ahead, others 3 months. The earlier, the safer your spot.
What if I don't get my flight? Talk to us – we'll find a solution. We're flexible, as long as you let us know early.
Can I extend on-site? In many cases yes – depending on availability. Just let us know early, then we'll see what's possible.
Do I need to speak German? No. Our camp is international. Classes are in Arabic. You can reach the administration in English, German or Arabic.
